CC Women's Lacrosse

  #

Many of you might remember that the CC women's team had its best showing last year in the NCAA Division III finals. They finished 4th- best ever for a west-of-the-Mississippi team. As a result, they're getting to host a lot more games at home this year, and that means that we get to have some GREAT lacrosse here in town.

The home games are all here, all free, and if you can make them, you should. If anyone's interested in carpooling, post something on the discussion board (on the right) and we'll try to get something together. (Note that the March 1,3,4,5 matchups are not just CC games)

Some Pictures from the Women's World Cup

  #

These are from last summer's World cup. There are some great pictures (a link to all of them is below). However, take a look at these:

Look at the Australian player is positioned- hips square to her opponent, stick mirroring hers, and feet moving side-to-side

Now HERE'S a double team. Look at how freaked out the Canadian player looks. Both Scotticsh players are coming at her strong side, so she's going to have to either step back, roll to her weak side, or try and get rid of the ball.

The Scottish player has completely beaten her defender, by bringing the stick across her body (to protect it), and powering past. Check out the look on the defender's face: "Huh? Where'd she go????"
